WALNUTS

Walnuts are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, such as ellagic acid, which may help reduce the risk of cancer by mitigating oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. Additionally, their dietary fiber content can support digestive health, potentially lowering the risk of colorectal cancer and promoting overall well-being.

  1. Rich in Antioxidants: Walnuts contain antioxidants, including vitamin E and polyphenols. These antioxidants help neutralize free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress and cellular damage that can lead to cancer development.

  2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Walnuts are one of the few plant-based sources of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties, and chronic inflammation is associated with an increased risk of cancer. Consuming foods rich in omega-3s may help mitigate this risk.

  3. Dietary Fiber: Walnuts provide dietary fiber, which supports digestive health and regular bowel movements. A healthy digestive system can help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer by preventing the buildup of potentially harmful substances in the colon.
