SPIRULINA

Studies of spirulina platensis (SP), planktonic blue-green algae, are showing why SP is gaining increasing attention because of its super nutritional (e.g. protein comparable to eggs) and medicinal potential. This microalgae contains phycobiliproteins (phycocyanin and allophycocyanin) and studies show that C-phycocyanin (C-PC), a biliprotein found in Spirulina platensis (blue green algae) has a powerful potential of phyto-antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancerous and anti-tumorous properties.

  1. Rich in Antioxidants: Spirulina is packed with antioxidants, including phycocyanin and beta-carotene. These antioxidants help neutralize free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress and cellular damage that can lead to cancer development.

  2. Potential Immune System Support: Some studies suggest that spirulina may enhance the activity of certain immune cells, potentially improving the body's ability to identify and eliminate cancer cells. However, more research is needed to fully understand this potential benefit.

  3. Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Spirulina contains bioactive compounds that have demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects. Chronic inflammation is associated with an increased risk of cancer, so reducing inflammation through dietary choices may help mitigate this risk.

Research: Obviously, food choices and diet are critical to a healthy everyday life, and even more so when fighting cancer at any stage. Now, after a decade of cancer-specific nutrition research and our own FightBack Foods® products development, we are more convinced than ever that intentional nutrition is imperative for any cancer battle. Importantly, our research over the past decade drove us to appreciate more than ever that naturally occurring nutrients found in a variety of foods, can greatly assist in the battle against cancer.

Thus, we have attached primarily PUBMED sourced information about each ingredient used in our first product - FightBack Foods® Bites, and some of the relevant research that rationalizes each one’s use in our products. Even if you don’t buy our bites, please see the many benefits associated with each ingredient we use, and perhaps find some way to incorporate them into a daily diet with relevant nutrients necessary  to assist in anyone’s fight against cancer.

PUBMED: PubMed is a free search engine accessing primarily the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics. The United States National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health maintains the database as part of the Entrez system of information retrieval. (As defined by Wikipedia)
